The Fresh Fruits and Vegetables Program continues at Rumford School
The Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program (FFVP) provides all children in
participating schools with a variety of free
fresh fruits and vegetables throughout
the school day. It is an effective and
creative way of introducing fresh fruits
and vegetables as healthy snack options.
School Clean Air Zones
For parents who use a car or truck to pick up or drop off students at Rumford School.
Special Notes:

Title I
Grants to school districts through Title I, Part A provide opportunities for children to acquire the knowledge and skills to meet the state proficiency standards. This purpose is accomplished in two ways: (1) by providing children supplemental support through enriched and accelerated education programs; and (2) by providing instructional personnel in participating schools with substantial opportunities for professional development.
Parental involvement is a large part of the Title I program, as is early intervention. Please follow the links below to access parent involvement policies, school progress reports, and new and existing programs.
Supplemental Educational Services
Supplemental Educational Services Scholarships will be provided this year by Beaver Meadow, Rumford and Rundlett Schools which are in the second year of the "school in need of improvement" status. This means that the CSD Title 1 Program has set-aside funding to offer scholarships to serve students who meet particular criteria to receive tutoring from outside services by approved organizations. Families will be contacted if their child meets the criteria, set forth by the department of education.
Title 1 Schools
Currently the following Schools are "targeted assistance" schools, in which students are eligible for services based on academic need:
Beaver Meadow Elementary (Pre K-5)
Broken Ground Elementary (gr. 3-5)
Walker Elementary (K-5)
Rundlett Middle School (gr. 6-8)
The following schools are "school-wide" schools in which all students are served with Title 1 funding.
Rumford Elementary (Pre K-5)
Dame Elementary (Pre K-2)
The determination is made by percentage of free and reduced lunch in each school. Schools with more than 40% of the students receiving free and reduced lunch are eligible to apply for school-wide status.
